Ray,
I too would like to know how much they cost. I only saw a laminated version on Brockmans sight. Is there going to be walnut version? Thanks!

vapodog,

Pressure is not relevant to recoil.

Pressure IS VERY relevant to recoil! Pressure divived by the cross sectional area of the bore EQUALS the force exerted against the bullet. YOUR SHOULDER absorbs the equal and opposite force.

Muzzle energy IS NOWHERE near what your shoulder sees! The rifle isn't travelling anywhere near the velocity of the bullet.

Mbogo 375,
Yes that is the stock pattern and it can be modified to your facial structure and build...

I cut the comb to a hard push on the irons, then shoot it for results from recoil...It has about 5/16 or so cast off and thats appropo for the calibers I use for my face...I have a tad more drop at the heel to push recoil up, and whats left comes back, I can also keep it a bit straighter if you prefer more back thrust, I personally like to split the recoil up, and that helps greatly keeping the thump off your knuckle, even with its lengthy grip.....I also set the comb nose bace about a 1/8 to as much as a 1/4..which requires a tad longer stock, but a tad longer stock is good for Africa and it helps greatly with big bore recoil..

I am sure my figures are more correct than assclowns, who is just spewing his feces out the wrong end once more. He has no basis for his ridiculas statement...

I'm not exactly certain how to put this.....but it's just pure and simple BULLSHIT

I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT TO CALL IT . . . PHYSICS !

It is VERY obvious that your knowledge of physics is sorely lacking.

The pressure curve determines the force curve.

The MOMENTUM TRANSFER determines how quickly the force is applied.

If 6500 ft-lbs of energy hit your shoulder well, you would MOST definitely be in the hospital.

For example this is what it takes to get 6500 ft-lbs of energy out of a 16 pound sludge hammer (roughly the same surface area as a typical rifle butt stock).

One would have to achieve a velocity of 161.7 fps, aka 5 times the acceleration of gravity, or 110 MPH, with a 16 pound sledge hammer to get to 6500 ft lbs of energy.

What do you think would happen to your SHOULDER if a 16 pound sledge doing 110 MPH hit is? Intensive care, a trip to the Trauma Center, etc, etc?

CPS,

Perhaps you should go back to grade school and do your homework this time.

vapodog erroneously stated that recoil energy is equal to muzzle energy.

You "sir" are a troll merely spewing your GROSS IGNORANCE out for all to see. You speak volumes to the PATHETIC state of science and mathematic curriculums in the USA! You should be embarrassed by your lack of knowledge, to say the least.

Energy ISN"T work, MORON. They two share the same units, but aren't the same thing. Here let me help you out, let's use BTU instead of ft-lbs, maybe you won't get so easily confused. The rifle in my example is only generating 8.35 BTU of muzzle energy. A 16 pound slug hammer (roughly 0.5 slug) still needs to go about 110 MPH to generate 8.35 BTU of kinetic energy though.

If you like we can of course switch over to the System International aka metric system.

Have a nice day.
