I posted this on the Lefties forum but I'm so thrilled I thought I'd share it with some of you wrong-handed right-handed folks too...

I started this project in 2002. Seven years later I've finally thrown enough cash into the pot to get it completed. I was sent these photos by my 'smith today and I am now getting very excited.

Here are the details:

Calibre is 375H&H.

The maker is Charles Lancaster, London, England.

It has been built on a new LH Reimer Johannsen double square bridge magnum Mauser action.

Mounts are swing-off H&H style.

Scope is Swarovski 1.25-4.

I'll be trying the stock for size back in England next week, then I just need to get it engraved, blued, chequered and oiled.

Really beautiful! I think the grain in that stock is stunning, and the work looks really good for a gun that is backwards! congratulations, let us know how well it shoots. what barrel did you go with?

I for one am really excited to hear that there are individual british gunsmiths still.

why til off mounts instead of using the double square bridge? why get the double square bridge if not using it?

will it be staying in the UK or you're taking it somewhere to break it in?

That stock should finish up nicely. The front scope ring base seems awfully low in relation to the bolt. Is that the final position for it? Hope it doesn't interfere with the ejection. I notice that the front of floor plate is left proud of the stock. Is that an English stocking trait?
Can't wait for pics of the finished product.
