Guys, My FFL friend finally arrived from vacation and I was able to receive my .375 H&H weatherby rifle. The box is marked "Weathermark" and the rifle made in Japan. Weatherby no longer lists the Weathermark on their site ... any able to give me some info? The color of the metal work is just a little odd ... is this one stainless or nickel? The trigger housing and floor plate are blue. (Gun appears to be in great shape ... am just a little worried because it will not extract and eject a snap cap. Have to see if it will handle real ammo.) Appreciate your input!

mstarling Like I stated on your other thread, the Weathermark Alaskan has a nickel finish. I have this same rifle. I am not aware that Weatherby made Weathermark Alaskan's with anything other than the nickel finish. I'm no metallurgist, but I think the nickel is more corrosion resistant than stainless. I hope your barrel is smoother than mine. Over 500 rounds and alot of JB and mine still copper fouls badly. I have to clean after every three shots when testing loads for accuracy. All in all, a good rifle, though. Tim [ 10-07-2002, 05:08: Message edited by: tarbe ]
