I don't see it supplanting the 338 in the US, and maybe only for a while will it supplant the H&H, ESPECIALLY if it is propriatery.

Mike,

When do you think Ruger will announce some necked down versions of the 375 Ruger? Wink

I think this is as good as any:

2007

1. 375Ruger
2. 338WM
3. 375H&H
4. All other 375s

2008

1. 375Ruger
2. 416Ruger
3. 338WM
4. 375H&H
5. All other 375s

2009

1. 27-35?Ruger
2. 375Ruger
3. 416Ruger
4. 338WM
5. 375H&H
6. All other 375s
* The Democratic Whitehouse, Senate and Congress will make a full court press against all domestic firearm manufacturers with the intent of bleeding them dry to the point of bankruptcy.

2010

1. 22lr shooting non-lead projectiles.
2. 12ga shooting non-lead shot.
* The Democratic Whitehouse, Senate and Congress wakes up one morning to the fact that the Chinese now have ownership and/or control of almost all raw steel and copper production worldwide. In addition, enemies of the United States will control most all of the worlds oil production in addition to having confirmed nuclear capabilities.

2011

1. Daisy BBs made from non-metal substance.
* Domestic production of commercial firearms and ammunition will be in shambles due to legislation and lawsuits combined w/ the shortages of raw materials that are now controlled by the Chinese. Those who cave in to legislative demands are allowed to continue work under government/military contracts for LEO/Military only.

2012

* A plank of the Democratic Party’s Platform will be a national registry of all domestic firearms followed by confiscation by the end of the 2016 term.

Has anyone noticed if we include cartridges from each bore size with factory ammo and rifles and also those that are likley to have longevity, the 375 bore size is now about second to 30 bore size.

I think we will see the 375 Ruger in all the same rifles as the 338....not just open sighted safari style rifles.

A full .75% of current shooters think the 300 Win Mag level of recoil is too much to handle. The .338 Winchester is over the top. Now, how many rifles in .375 anything will the shooting public buy? I think it is a fools errand to bet on this one!

Yep, 3/4 of 1% can't handle a 300 WinMag's recoil. I think that is a fair estimate. Wink

I'll be back soon with some .375 Ruger chrono data and some .375 H&H case capacities. wave

lb404 and RIP,

Your predictions are only asked for 375 H&H, 375 Ruger and 338.

Recoil of the 223 or 300 Win is not relevant.

Have some fun and make a predction.

Ron,

There does seem to be quite a few people who see the 375 Ruger cuttinng into 338 Win territory.

Since there aren't many choices in new production type 375 H&H rifles with the demise of Winchester, I'll go this way:

2007:
338
375 Ruger tie
375 H&H tie

2008:
338
375 Ruger
(416 Ruger)
375 H&H

I have a nice FN in .338 WM I was going to build in the .375 Ruger. It shoots so nice, I can't bring myself to change it, so it's going with me to Alaska in Sept.

I have no idea how many rifes of any type will sell next year.

I don't think any of you really know either.

BUT, I'll give you a chance to prove it to me.

Tell me oh great gun swami's who will win the NCAA basketball championship.

I promise to buy one of each with my gambling winnings. Big Grin
