I know it has nothing to do with hunting, but "Alexander Hamilton" by Ron Chernow, which I just finished, is one of the best books I've read in years. I majored in History, so I've read a lot of books about American History, but this one is too good not to be mentioned.

Then again, I just may be a Hamiltonian at heart, making me think it was better than it is. Read it and let me know. It's not a light read and you will have to have a penchant for history, but I know of no other book that will give as much insight into the contributions of one man in the beginnings of the United States government.
