Gentlemen, I have been searching for a way to obtain a copy of the 1954 movie by Robert C. Ruark entitled "Africa Adventure" The film follows Harry Selby and John Sutton as they hunt cape buffalo, leopard, rhino and a bull elephant. Africa Adventure was distributed in the U.S. by RKO Pathe, the newsreel division of RKO Radio Pictures. ---- 16 mm , 64 mins. filmed in 1954. In 2002 a DVD was produced from the original 16 mm film and donated to "The Robert Ruark Foundation" (Chapel Hill, NC) I have tried in vain to find a way to obtain a copy of this DVD. Here is a short MOVIE trailer for the film !!!! GREAT FOOTAGE !!!! http://www.tcm.com/video/videoPlayer/?cid=14243 ANY HELP IN THIS AREA WOULD BE MOST APPRECIATED !!! Turner has the rights to the movie and has not yet released it on DVD. The reason looks like a lack of demand. Hope this link works, http://www.tcmdb.com/title/title.jsp?stid=33277&atid=51115&category=overview, but if you go to the TCMvideo.com site and find "Africa Adventure", on the right side you will find a box to vote for its release to DVD. Right now, it has only 22 votes for release. The more people who vote for release, the better chance it will be offered. SCI Life Member DSC Life Member

Gil and all, This movie is available at: www.videoscreams.com Their search function apparently is TU for right now, but they do have it. The version they have is the b/w edition that was put out by several folks as a result of a 'pirated' copy of the real release. It's good enough. SCSportsman who posts here is actually the original owner of the film that was used to make this. Long story, but if you want to watch the movie, this is probably your best shot for the foreseeable future.
