This is a mid 1970s era how to book for North American big game. The author ( Tom Brakefield) does a good job of examining hunting from many aspects. Included are in-depth treatments of all major species as well as advise on guns, loads, scopes, hiring an outfitter etc.
Its an interesting read with lots of common sense through out the text.
Brakefield also includes lots of nice pictures from the trophy collection of the legendary Elgin Gates.
