Although not solely about a bush war, read Scribbling the Cat by Alexandra Fuller. Her interaction with an ex-soldier is so reminiscent of the stories you hear from a Vietnam it’s scary. It’s a good but depressing book. I was not expecting to read what I did.

There are actually quite a few books available here in the states on the various bush wars. Surprisingly many are available on Kindle. Is there a specific topic you are interested in? You can PM me if you like for specific recommendations.

I read "The Wild Geese" by Col. Michael Hoare in the late 60's about the Congolese 'unpleasantness'.+ the mercs response. My copy is long gone but I bet you could find it on Amazon.I think the publishing date was 1965. Never mistake motion for action.

Fire Force - Chris Cocks 30+ years experience tells me that perfection hit at .264. Others are adequate but anything before or after is wishful thinking.

I second "A handful of hard men". It'd be the first one I'd read. "Gunship Ace: the wars of neal ellis, helicopter pilot" also is interesting, largely because he was involved in so many of the bush wars.

Had Bush War in Rhodesia, by way of a thrift store, seemed to be part of a series. Grizz Indeed, no human being has yet lived under conditions which, considering the prevailing climates of the past, can be regarded as normal. John E Pfeiffer, The Emergence of Man Those who can't skin, can hold a leg. Abraham Lincoln Only one war at a time. Abe Again.
