I bought Brad Thor's new book "Backlash" off Amazon. I got it yesterday,. In this case, one of his started it last night + stayed up all night to finish it because I couldn't put it down. His whole series is good but I was really entranced with this one. I enjoy books, where the subject matter is well researched +, is factual. One of his reference assistants was Marcus Luttrell (of 'Lone Survivor')

Never mistake motion for action.

I got turned on to him after reading his interview in The American Rifleman. That was a good endorsement so I checked him out + bought all of his books since. I appreciate factual descriptions of weaponry. My MAJOR reading turnoff is when the hero "releases the safety catch on his automatic revolver", etc. That guy just lost a reader as he now has no credence.

Or after shooting a Glock empty, the "click" of the hammer on an empty chamber...I think Dan Brown owns at least one of those...

True that. Hemingway once said, "Write about what you know + not too long after it happened."
