I would like to acquire the hardcover edition of Peter Beard's (he co-authored) Eyelids of Morning. I once tried through the web for a used book source and after confirmation that it was the hardcover, I received the softcover. Anybody know how I can locate a hardcover from a reputable source?

I do not know about "reputable," but there were some listed at Amazon by sellers of used books, including at least one that indicated that they had a first edition with the dustjacket (unless my memory is failing me). I have the soft cover version in my office.

Charles, I also have the softcover edition and will continue to check the Amazons and others for a reasonably priced hardcover edition. I am not a collector and don't need a first edition or new condition. I just think a good book should be in hardcover. So, I will continue to search for a reasonably priced edition of the book.

Good luck! It is an interesting book, and having it in my office I can show people what happens to a careless Peace Corps volunteer who goes swimming in the wrong place. Eeker

I was a Peace Corps Volunteer myself (Central African Empire, 1977 to 1979) and have always thought the picture of the remaining pieces of the PCV in the box should be shown to anyone who wants to wade into the waters in African streams and lakes.
