A new book by Fred Zeglin of Z-Hat Custom Rifles, 287 pages, hardback. I've just finished this one and it's one of the few lately that I had to read some of every day. 22 chapters that cover everything from defining wildcats to designing your own and making the reamers. Lots of history on the development and evolution of wildcats along with lots of info on Ackley, Newton, Gebby, Gibbs, etc. Includes the old wildcats and the new ones developed in the last year or so along with lots of ballistics, load data and info on developing your own loads. The chapter on Rocky Gibbs has a lot of info on his life and the developement of his line of cartridges. Excellent book. You can order one from Fred's web site, z-hat.com

You might give Fred a call, I wouldn't think it would take that long....

I wasn't sure if the books had been published or if it was an "advanced" order when I placed mine. I did send him an email around Christmas, but suspected with the holidays, there wasn't anyone in the office.

Fred is a good guy and I harbor no grudge. He built my 411 Hawk and did a fantastic job. Guess I'll have to twist his ear a little!

Wanted to update this thread. I contacted Fred shortly after that last post and he had sent the book, but I didn't receive it. Fred immediately sent another copy of the book right away and I received within days of our conversation.

The book is fantastic and should be part of any wildcatter's, or just anyone wanting to learn more about internal ballistics, library.

As always, Fred and his crew are top notch and I cannot say enough good things about them. Great folks offering great products and services.
