I sincerely recommend all hunters the book "Dersu Uzala", by Vladimir Arsenjev. Akira Kurosawa has also made a movie of it. The book is one of my all-time favourites with J.A.Hunter's "Hunter" being the other.

Dersu Uzala is based on reality. The author was making expeditions in Siberia in the beginning of the 20th century. On one of these journeys he met a man named Dersu Uzala, who was a hunter and began to guide him in the wilderness. His hunting skills and understanding of nature seems to have been really outstanding, and he saved the whole expedition from almost certain death a couple of times. It's definitely one of the most interesting stories I've ever encountered.

Have not read the book yet, have seen the film, it is great. -Fred
