If you enjoy easy to read historical novels about Africa in and around the turn of the century, check out the Brigandshaw series by Peter Rimmer. There are three books in the series, Echoes From the Past, Elephant Walk and Mad Dogs and Englishmen. Akin to the Courtney series by Wilbur Smith. I think Rimmer is better writer though. Great books to enjoy on cold winter days.
