...originally posted in my thread on bull riding, but doesn't seem to be attracting any readers. Read this and you will want to go hug your kids after you see how quick the worst can happen.

Since this thread is about Cowboys, I want to share and highly recommend a short article from Texas Monthly I read the other night... here ....even tho the situations were not remotely related, I had to call my son's cell (he was driving home from Austin) to see if he was OK, thankfully he was.

A tragic tale of love, loss, and the dangers of fire. Very well written, IMO.

When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere.

NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR.

I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

I have a friend whose son lives in Stephenville that took part in the generous hay hauling sojourn to north Texas. Here in central Texas there was tons of folks donating hay + their time to haul to the north Texas ranchers to help save their cattle.Funny that you never heard about it on the radio.Govenor Abbott also informed the DPS,unless they are doing something totally dangerous just leave these convoys alone.Kyle's friend had a trailer that was loaded but his truck would'nt handle the load so just for grins he went to the Dodge dealership in Stephenville + asked the owner if he could borrow a truck for this mission. The owner gave him a 2017 1 ton dually w/ 75 miles on it + just said save your receipts.Kyle + his other welder buddies are making up tee + corner posts to take up to help out the ranchers.Folks in Texas have always been good to help out their neighbors.Once again since that is good news, the papers seem to not want to report it.

We need more cowboys/cowgirls, and less of everything else.
