Just got through reading "The Big Woods" a collection of short stories by William Faulkner including "The Bear". Reminds me of the stories I used to hear as young boy at our family hunting camp in Louisiana. Our place is only minutes south of Faulkners stomping grounds in Mississippi. It's very easy for me to visualize the setting and events in his writings.
