Just starting the last volume of William Manchesters trilogy on Churchill, The Last Lion. Masterfully researched and brilliantly written. One of the truly greatest leaders, and it would be hard to argue that he was not the greatest leader, of the last century. A fascinating man on all dimensions. When you compare him to contemporary leaders, you are left dumbfoundedly, and disappointedly, shaking your head.

I agree wholeheartedly; indeed, any comparison in anyone offered anywhere today is an effort in futility. I've always had the greatest respect + interest in Churchill + have quite a few books by him + about him; but just like books on T.R., one can never have too many.
