An older book that might be hard to find. A fictional account (more like a factional account, a work of fiction based on fact) about Allan Wilson and the Shangani Patrol. The patrol was wiped out near the Shangani River while pursuing and trying to capture Lobengula. Short book but a really good read.

One of the indunas that fought them described the patrol (less than twenty men facing thousands of Matabele) this way, "For they were men of men, and their fathers were men before them."
