I was editor of Safari Magazine when Heym built the third in Safari Club International's Big Five Classic Masterpiece Collection, a double rifle in .375 H&H.

We ran photos and text of Heym's "The Buffalo Rifle" over three issues in 1982, showing the work in progress and the finished product.

It sold at auction to Arnold Alward of New Brunswick, Canada, for $65,000 in 1983, which was the most ever paid in America for a rifle at that time.

I also featured it in my book, "The History of Safari Club International."
