Is anybody aware of a book exclusively on double rifles? I seem to recall seeing one advertised at some point but can't remember when or by who. I'll never be able to afford a fine English or European double but at least enjoy reading about the various makers and variations. Thanx.

This is the only one I know, it´s called The Express Rifle a Different Weapon, from a Spanish author called Saul Braceras.

You can look at it here : The express Rifle ...

I am sure this is a stupid question, but is the book in english? It sounds like a good addition to my reference texts otherwise.

Thanks Juan

None of the text on the book photo is really legible, so I am glad I asked. That would have been an expensive error otherwise!

Suggest the book "Shooting the British Double Rifle: A Modern Guide for Load Development and Use" Book by Graeme Wright. Available from Midway and other places.

yeah, but.......

Alexander Gray's book "the Hammerless Double Rifle" may just be THE best on DRs...but it was a very small run, and "as new" copies are running from $700-$800 when the rare one comes up for sale on E-bay, et al. I have one, and it is an invaluable addition to any library...but it will cost you dearly these days to acquire one.
