Western fans set up and take notice. A true legend finally getting his due. Oft mentioned in many a western journal, involved in seemingly everything, Reshaw’s life is the story of the west. Trapper, Trader, smuggler, hustler, frontiersman , interpreter, contemporary of George Bent and Andrew Drips and the like. Fort Laramie, Bear Butte, Denver, Taos and many many more all saw the man known mostly on the northern plains. Great insight into the times running from the 1830’s to 1870’s. A “small” trading supply of tobacco was 3000 lbs. He made a small fortune selling bacon. Built trading posts, forts, river ferry’s and good relations with Indians. If you’re weary of books covering the same old western topics but still hankering for more Wild West, here it is. | ||
