I got this in the mail about a week ago. It took a couple weeks to transit our European mail system before it showed up at my door. First off, I had never heard of him and was offered it at a value price on Amazon. It is more about the current crop of custom rifles in Britain than it is about custom Rigby's, Boss', Westly Richards and Hollands. Honestly it really is about the middle class rifles that most Americans own; custom 700's, Sakos, and what not. I found it interesting and thought it was a lot of fun.

One thing I want to point out, is that the average American rifle loony loses his mind over the "American classic" stock. Mr. Potts owns about a dozen rifles that are thumbholes. I didn't know this before I bought the book, but it breaks a lot of myths about what a English gun is supposed to look like, and what a English hunter would own. I know the McMillan Lazzeroni Thumbhole and McMillan Sako Sporter are very popular replacement stocks in Britain. I have seen several Brits post photos with rifle so stocked. Pretty rifles with wood stocks don't work well in a nation that gets several hundred inches of wet weather a year.
