I just finished reading Capstick's book on The Last Ivory Hunter, the saga of Wally Johnson. The book was printed in 1988 and ol' Wally was about 75 years old. What ever happened to Wally? Is he still alive? Is he living in America with his children? Is his son still in Africa or America? What a fascinating life Wally lead and what a heart breaking way to leave your home. I tried a search on google but only came up with bookshops selling the book. Does anyone have any information about him or his family? Thanks malcolm56

Malcolm: some years ago I saw an article on Lon Paul´s work which depicted Walter Johnson (Wally´s son). Unfortunately I don´t know more. Perhaps the Pauls could say you more, I understand that they still are active at gunsmithing. Good luck with your research, I also think it´s a fascinating life, what with being bitten by a Gaboon viper and surviving!
