Amen to all that brother!

In addition to being quite a character, Elmer Keith was nothing short of a genius. I've got all but "Safari" in my collection and have one signed edition of his auto-biography "Keith" from the Great Master. My office is like a shrine to Elmer with photos, his books, etc.

I too grew up on him along with Jeff Cooper, Skeeter Skelton, Bill Jordan and O'Connor, but Elmer is far and away the King of our old original gun writers. He was talking about things 40 and 50 years ago (or more) that today some of our modern "experts" are now announcing they've just "discovered".
