Major Foran has led a very full life of adventure. From 1899 until 1934 he was by turns an army officer, many time on active service; one of the original six European officers of the British East Africa Police. An extensive world traveller, often off the beaten track. A big game hunter with rifle or camera in Asia, Africa and America. And a journalist, special correspondent and an editor.
