Anyone remember this fabulous BBC TV miniseries which aired on PBS in 1971? It's is a very accurate rendition of John Moorehead's books "The White Nile" & "The Blue Nile" and the various biographies of Sir Richard Francis Burton. A later feature film, "Mountains of the Moon", loosely followed it. It covers the Victorian-age exploration of central Africa and the Nile by explorers Speke, Grant, Burton, Baker, Livingston & Stanley, who set the stage for later European explorers and settlers in Africa. I was a able to obtain a bootleg copy which re-aired a few years ago, but it is not good quality. Wish the BBC would release it on DVD. NRA Life Member, Band of Bubbas Charter Member, PGCA, DRSS.
