Get the book written by Frank Dobie.He met ben lilly and did the book based on ben lillys own words and recounts of events.Ben is a legend that many hunters have never heard of.He was a cross between johnny appleseed and daniel boone & Judge roy Bean,He was a great explorer and woodsman,i love his stories and wish i could have known him and hunted with him.They dont make em like ol ben no more.He also killed bear with a knife!

The Ben Lilly Legend by J.Frank Dobie is an outstading read as blackbearhunter said.I often thought it would make a great movie.

John Sundra also wrote of Ben in a book about several great outdoorsmen. I have a copy kicking around that I can LEND you GBB, but I will need it back.
