I need some ideas here. My wifes mother just turned 100 + is in hospital.She has a lady room mate + tonight both of them asked my wife to read them to sleep. Now I have one helluva a library but I am drawing a blank as to what to recommend. Any ideas? SOON Thanks for any ideas in advance.R.

I'd suggest something like "Anne of the green gables" or some other book from 30's-50's.

Did your mother in law read to her kids? Maybe your wife can remember a favorite book and return the favor by reading it back to her.

edited to add that the book was first published in 1908, earlier than I thought!

Also, the gutenberg.org website has most any book imaginable from that era if she thinks of something else it will probably be there and you can put it on a tablet or kindle.

Thanks for the input guys. I opted to going through the library + getting a bit of early P.G. Wodehouse. Light + easy + funny in short story form.Especially Jeeves + Wooster.She does'nt stay awake long + this will help her + the other old lady in the room to stop their TV volume wars.
