Until mag-set/ African hunter get their US office up and running (by mid november I believe) you will experience long postage delays unless you pay for Fed-ex.

In the short term, Zimbi books in South Africa are the appointed agents down there zimbi@mweb.co.za

In the states, try Rowland Ward

It was worth buying The Perfect Shot just for the cover photo. I love that look. Up close enough, he would almost freeze my finger on the trigger.

Hi Andre

Nyati is only available in the states from Rowland Ward or From www.african-hunter.com . The African Hunter crew have had some problems of late but the magazines are now being printed in the states and the books in South Africa you should get delivery on time.

Also the updated edition of Nyati was originally done in soft back. For a 450 page reference book this wasn't the best plan, and the second edition is only available in hardback. Having both, go for the hardback.

Are we talking about the same book
The "Nyati" I am talking about is the by Kevin Robertson aka Doctari. The book is a small 108 pages

The one that you are talking about is by Brian Marsh
I am sure that it is a good book.
The Nyati I am talking about is by a veterinarian whom is also a PH (from 1991) Kevin Robertson and his wife Catherine has a farm close to the Zambezi Valley.

I am surprised that you do not know him being from Zim yourself.

The book is highly recommended by James Wessels, Chairman of the Zimbabwe Professional Hunters and Guides Association.

Doctari has also written the book "The perfect shoot".
Both books tells you where to place the bullet. And he makes some pretty good points being a veterinarian.

Cheers,

Andr

Hi Andre

Know Kevin Well

Yes, same book. The original is 108 pages - was in soft cover (now out of print) and hard back (still available). A considerably expanded edition with contributions from several people added, including a chapter on forest buffalo is now available. Some soft covers are still out there and current ones are hard cover.

Kevin was driven off his farm and has had to relocate to South Africa. Don't think he is doing any hunting here, but his PH licence is still valid and has been renewed.

Kevin Got his full licence in 1996 and James Wessels Hasn't been charmain of ZPHGA for nearly a decade! Adrian Swales is current chairman.

Know Brian Marsh well - he's my landlord! He has never written a book on buffalo hunting.
