can anyone advise me on how to get my 58 rem shotgun to eject and operate smoothly
i load 3 shells ( max ) it will always fire the first , almost always the second but will rarely eject the second shell
when it will eject the second shell the bolt will not close on the third.
i have cleaned it
made sure the gas ports are open
and have never oiled the gun where it says to (never oil)
i have been thinking of some dry silicone or graphite lube
but it should work just being dry and clean

When you are cleaninng, do you remove the buttstock and the action spring, clean the tube etc.? Also take a close look at the little piece in front of the action spring that engages the link, if it is worn, it will bind up during use and cause jamming issues.On the other, if the friction piece is worn, it will also cause the shotgun to jam.
