I am looking for a recomendation on a 16 ga double gun . I have a budget of about $2000, and would like to get a really nice pheasant and grouse gun. I want a double of some persuassion( Used) but am not sure where to start looking. Any ideas on what woudl be my best bets?I have seen a wide variety of guns that fit into my price range on GunsAmerica, btu I am realy not to familiar with this type of arm( I have allways used pumps before).

Go to a gun dealer and find which O/U fit better or the best between Browning Citori and Beretta Oynx series. If the Beretta fits you the best, then I opt for Rizzini Aurum O/U in 16 gauge. If the Browning Citori fit you the best, I would look at those Browning lightning 16 gauge O/U. I believe there are Rizzini and Browning on WWW.GUNSAMERICA.COM in 16 gauge. You need to be aware of the older Browning O/U in 16 gauge, they were built on 12 gauge frame instead of the proper 20/16 gauge frame which will contribute to lighter shotgun and the natural pointing ability as far as pointing the shotgun quickly. The new Browning O/U are built on proper size frame. As far as SXS, there alot of brands out there and some very expensive ones and also that for some reason there not alot of 16 gauge available as compared to O/U and I have been looking for 16 gauge SXS for the 3 years for upland hunting use only from what I've found is that SXS in 16 gauge weigh at least a pound more then O/U and most do not have interchangable chokes and the ones that have fixed chokes are modified or improved cylinder which don't fit my style of hunting pheasants. If I were you, I would wait until July and look at those Ruger Gold Label SXS in 12 gauge with 3 inch chamber, barrel selector on the saftey switch like Beretta, chrome line barrel for steel shot, interchangable chokes, english grip or pistol grip, lengthen force cone and best of all, it only weighs 6.3 pounds! The Gold Label will be selling around $1500.00 which is also about the same price as the Browning and Rizzini used or new.

There are some 16 ga. Browning Citoris on Auction Arms or Gunbroker.com at cheaper prices than Northern Rifleman.
