I have a question. In the past, FN-Browning has marketed different shotguns, starting with the original B25, then the Liège, the (Miroku made) CITORI, the 125, 325, 425, 525,... It seems U.S. shooters still use the name CITORI as a generic term englobing all present Browning o/u's, while in Europe it only refers to an former model. Is that so ?

Best I can figure out, yes. We have a couple (I shoot a Citori XS for Sporting Clays). There is the Citori, the Lightning, the XS, the 525. They are all basically the same action, so they are all called "Citori - something".

The Browning line of shotguns are either Citoris of one model or another and the Cynergy (several models also). You can still get a FN browning but it is through their custom shop and the price is pretty high.

That's what I thought. In the U.S., CITORI has become a generic term while in Europe the name only refers to a former discontinued model. Present models are branded B25, B425, B525, etc.

Knowledgable shooters call the original Belgian-made O/U the Superposed (as well as the current FN-made guns). The short-lived Leige or B-27 is rarely seen, although it was marketed briefly in the U.S. during two separate periods. The Japanese guns are universally called "Citori".

As Stonecreek said. The Belgian made guns are not called Citoris. I don't know when the B-25 designation came into play here, I'm thinking the late 70's. Superposed is the standard name for an FN made Browning O/U. The B-27 was so quick to die that few folks have seen them here.

Andre knows that, he did not just fall off the turnip cart. His question was just referring to what we term a Citori. You probably didn't notice that he lives in Belgium.
