I have recently acquired a single shot shotgun bearing the name "Long Tom" on the receiver. On the top of the barrel is etched (or as much as I can make out) "G?N?IN? ARMORY BERLIN". If anyone knows any history about this firearm I would greatly appreciate it if you could share it. It was found in the woods by my grandfather and all wooden components had rotted with age. New components were carved by a local man, but I would love to have them possibly replaced with actual or replica parts. As stated earlier, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. So let it be written, so let it be done.

I hope you get some responses on this. How long is the barrel? My best friend, while growing up. Had one of these. We had a general store in town and they sold buckshot per each round if you wanted to buy it that way. I think he bought 5 rounds of double 0. We went out and he promply shot a spike buck with it. I wish he still had that gun but it was borrowed at the time and returned to a family member later on. Can you still shoot it? How long ago did your grandfather find it? Sendero300>>>===TerryP

Yes it does still shoot but I have not fired it so I don't know how it patterns. I don't know when it was found. I'd have to get it out of hiding (a pain) to measure it. I'm 5'10" and it comes to mid chest on me. So let it be written, so let it be done.

"Long Tom" was used by more then one manufacturer. The term applys to a shogun with about a 32" to 36" barrel in most cases.
