magazine plug

picked up a 1955 browning A5 in 12 ga. TX only allows 2 in the mag and 1 chambered for dove hunting. is there a plug for this gun?

I have seen factory plugs for the old A5s and I believe they came with a new gun. They were made of wood. If you can find a photo of one they would not be hard to make from a hardwood dowel. You may be able to pick up one from Browning. Midwest gun works has them (plastic) for 10$.

Yes, as mentioned. We even used No. 2 pencils snapped off at the right length.


I meant to be DSC Member...bad typing skills.

About any diameter rod make of most material.

That fits properly in the mag. tube will work.

I have use a lot of old alum. arrow's

I like stuff that will not hold moisture.

Best are the plastic ones unless you need to feel nostalgic. I've removed most of my original wooden ones and replaced them with plastic for practicality's sake.

yea, i grew up in the desert boonies and it was considered sacraledge to buy anything new you could "rig". but that was many years and give a shits ago. i have a plastic one inbound.

But it is hard not being cheap.

I just got chewed out for buying a new ice auger.

Wife said doesn't your 50 yoa hand auger still work.

I have a nice electric one now. Wink
