I am looking for advice and/or information regarding a Sauer and Sohn 12 ga. side x side. I have seen information in certain publications where value is determined, among other things, mostly by the level of engraving. Since I have nothing to compare mine to, is there another way of determining which model I have? Is there someone out there who specializes in Sauers who may be able to help?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

I recently came across an artical on these either in the Double Gun Journal or Shooting Sportsman. I think it was DGJ and will look and see what I can find for you.

There is an artical on this gun in the Double Gun Journal volume 14 issue 3. This is a quarterly publication so this was Autum 03 issue. Their phone # 231-536-7439. The title of the artical is J.P. Saur & Sohn's Deutsf Reich Patent No. 78411 by Jeff Stephens. The artical goes into the patents and lock work as well as some other models. This one described is a side lock drilling. If you contact DGJ they might be able to provide a reprint of the artical or put you in contact with the author.

I hope this will help you in finding out more about your gun.
