I don't know how widespread this is, but I walked into my local (New Boston, Tx) Walmart today and strolling thru the sporting goods section, I noticed boxes 100 12 ga. Federal Field and Target 2 3/4, 1 1/8, 3 loads of 7 1/2 and 8s priced at $19.94. Next to them were the same loads in Winchester at the normal $28+. I asked the clerk if that was the right price and he said, "Yep, they just marked down a lot of shotgun shells." So I took all 16 boxes(of 100) they had.

It might be worth checking your local Walmarts. I haven't seen these shells that cheap in quite a few years.

Prices are coming down on every thing.

Except 22RF. Can't find a box any where.

Local wal mart even had 10 boxes of 22mag on the shelve.

All kinds of pistol and 223 ammo with the price marked down from what it was a week ago.

Well, I couldn't stand it so that night I went to another Walmart's only to find the prices were the old ones. I think this must be a local manager's decision. I've been buying those shells for over 10 years and when I started buying them they were $21+/box 100. This is the lowest price on them I've seen but unfortunately I think it was a one time deal.

Breaking news from Prescott, Az.

This ammo is currently available in the local Wal Marts for $19. per 100 round carton, either 12 or 20. The 12s are in either 7.5 or 8 shot, the 20s are in 7.5. I have not seen this price in Southwest Colorado or Arizona for at least 6 years.

Interestingly, the same load by Winchester, also packaged in 100 round cartons, is $28 per carton.

Clerk did not know how long the pricing for the Federal stuff would last, but said they had lots of inventory at that price.

Great news. I wish I was in Prescott, I'd load the truck up. I don't think you can reload for those prices with current component costs.

At current component costs, you can't even load FREE hulls for that price. Add in hull costs, and it costs around $6/box 25 to reload with your time being worth nothing.

Believe it or not, these prices are still holding in the 3 Wal Marts in and around Prescott, Az. Although they are putting fewer cases on the shelf at any given time and alternate between 12 and 20 gauge, the prices are still holding.

I've bought several thousand rounds since the middle of June.

Same low prices at the Fredericksburg TX Walmart. But I generally use low velocity 1 ounce 12 gauge loads in vintage guns so I have to pay more.
