Can you put a Browning A5 - 12 gauge - 2-3/4" chamber barrel on a Browning A5 - 12 gauge - 3" magnum shotgun - would they be interchangeable?

I know the other way around would not work.

Thanks,

I believe either way works, but don't try using 3" shells in a 2-3/4 frame. Just make sure you get the buffer washers in the appropriate order for the loads you are using. I found that the new Japanese barrels are a bit heavier than the old Browning ones and might require a bit of wood removal from the forend for proper functioning.
