Citori ejection issues

Long story short, I traded for a camo Citori (NIB) and discovered quickly it would not eject Fiocchi shells out of the top barrel. Did fine with Estate but no good with Fiocchi. Took it back to dealer and we tried 2 others with no problems so I swapped out. Today with the second camo Citori in hand I discovered it will not eject 3" black clouds or 3.5" Remingtons.

What would you ladies and gentlemen recommend?

1. Have dealer send it back to factory or approved repair center for special attention?

2. Change brands?

Have you or the dealer thoroughly cleaned a;nd oiled the ejectors and cleaned the chambers? Brownings come from the factory with tight tolerances and a fairly thick preservative on all the metal surfaces. This makes them very stiff for a while. After a couple hundred rounds through them they loosen up a bit and are easier to open and close.

If you want to keep your dealer involved you might ask him to help you clean and lube the ejectors.

After a few hundred rounds I think you will find that the ejectors have the vigorous snap necessary to kick even the heaviest shells. Personally I would take your gun to the local Sporting Clays, Skeet or Trap range and run a bunch of target loads through the gun.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite malfunction.

Very good point! Yes this was the first thing I did on both shotguns.

This may be the solution but it would be nice if it would work out of the box!

Thank you for the suggestions!

I talked to a friend who recommended not to send it back to Browning. He said it would take a long time and they would probably send it back and say nothing is wrong with it. I called my dealer and they agreed and recommended letting them have the local gunsmith polish the chambers a little. Sounds like a plan to me. Anyone here with a similar experience? Is it common for O/U and SXS shotguns to be particular about the ammo they digest?

I have 4 Citoris and have been shooting them for 20 years and never had any problems with ejection with any shell, they are all very tight actions though. I would ask a gunsmith to look at the action

Also I would post the question on Shotgun Report web site, Bruce Buck answers the technical questions and is very sharp
