Anyone ever hear of Essex Mfg. of New York? This single-shot shotgun was made for an old Hardware chain. My brother-in law just inherited it. Looks to be good quality and I'm guessing at least 80 years old, possibly 100, or more. Like most shotguns and rifles made for hardware chains, it's probably nothing special, just good old solid American Quality. Serial number is a single letter followed by 2 digits. Looks very shootable and was made with good steel. It was a wall hanger kept by the door at his grandfather's farm. Any help is appreciated!
