butchloc:

You kept your hands in your pockets, alright -and good for you (I spent lots o money in my life wastefully - and it wasn't all on women and wine.Smiler) Nonetheless, I am tremendously impressed by a Purdey - and a hammer double,at that - and a 16 ga. too. (I always saw Purdey 12s) I hope you get expert responses from people who know more than me about Purdey shotguns. THey always awed me.Fact.

One of the local boys mentioned seeing a nice 16ga double gun at a show sometime ago. The price tag was well into 5 figures.

He said “ I started to tell the owner I would be interested in buying the gun if it had been in 20 ga.....but I was afraid he would pull one out from under the table and I would have to put up or shut up” Eeker
