I have in my possession a savage 311a shotgun, a possible acquizition in a trade...anyway I have looked it over and can find no indication on the chokes of each barrel?? Is there a secret to this, or did they not mark them? If they did not mark them, what is the easiest way to find out the choke? I have found out that if there is no serial ## on the gun is was made between 1948 and 1968-correct? This one is without a serial##...

also, is the fore end screw supposed to screw all the way to the barrel???
