fffg: I smiled when you said you didn't get any birds with the 410. I didn't even have 3" shells and used 2 1/2" shells. We had a lot of native quail in back fields and I just never succeeded in shooting any. (to the great delight of my mother who would give me breadcrumbs as a 4 year old to go out and feed them - a practice my father stopped when he found out about it because he didn't want the coveys to become half tamed - and he wasn't a quail hunter. I'm not one either) I did kill a number of copperhead snakes with the 410 when they came too close to the house. Your dad cleaning pheasants and then eating his sandwich didn't bother me. Why should it? I used to hunt ruffed grouse and would immediately fillet the breasts (and throw away the rest of the bird)and sit down in late morning and eat my sandwich. You have a problem with that? ![]() ![]() | ||
