We all have guns that we prefer because of "valid" reasons (weatherproof, accurate, points well, cost a lot, etc) but do you have a gun that you're just tied to for almost unexplainable reasons? I'd say my favorite gun I have is a hardware store double barrel shotgun. Its a Plymouth, I think it was made by Cresant Arms. My grandfather bought it in a cafe about 30 or 40 years ago on morning when he was going to see his father in the hospital. Side by side 20 gauge, metal is pitted at some places and the wood is rough, but very shootable. I dont know why, but I leave my other (better) guns in the rack and almost always pick up this one. I like the feel of a slender 20 gauge double in my hands, over the larger guns. Its easy to carry and doesn't kick bad. Even though I own a repeater and would probably carry it dove hunting, the little side by side is so darn fun for small game (points quick and 2 choke choices). Plus, due to its condition I can jump into the brush without worrying about scratching the finish like I would a "nice" gun. Its probably worth about $150 bucks, if that, yet I hunt with it more than any of my others. | ||
