I have located a Mossberg 695 slug gun, now looking for the best place to start trying ammo. Who makes the most accurate slugs, I know that I have to try 3-4 brands and all that. Need feedback on this with info on penetration too. I am new to all this have only used rifles and shotguns with buckshot in the past. Thanks, Wayne

I've had good luck with lightfield sabots in my 1100 W/rifled barrel, federal 2 3/4 classic slugs group well in it too.Don't really know what to say about the penetration except that I've flattened a few white tails with the lightfield's,no chasing, tracking,or second shots needed. Good luck to you

Wayne, Made me chuckle, I just posted a reply to your other question about barrels where I said I'm a big fan of the 695. In ours, I think the best results come from Copper Solids, but a friend of ours who hunts with us uses lightfields with good results. The sad thing is that none of any cheap slugs give good results in any of our guns. Let me rephrase that in that they will all be accurate enough up to about 40 yards, after that it is a crapshoot. Like you say, get a few boxes of premium sabots and see what your gun shoots best. I should add though that I haven't had any good results with Brenneke slugs regardless of price but the next gun may be different.
