Looking for some of the short variety for a friend that has a a 1887 win. 2 3/4 or whatever.I am not familiar w/10G. chambering. I KNOW that the 3.25 is way too long ( as I bought a case that was worthless for our needs)to chamber.Any info is appreciated

Not hard to shorten 3.5 inch shells to any length you want. I do it with my band saw and some home made jig blocks. The blocks are chunks of scrap hard wood, cut to desired length, with a thru hole of proper diameter.
If you are looking for loaded ammo that is a bit harder. RST has 2-7/8 and 2-5/8 loaded shells, maybe others as well.

these folks make brass cases in all 10 gauge lengths, can reuse forever, also, work well in lever action shotguns. I use them for cowboy action shooting with black powder for my 10.
