Here are some pics of the IAC branded 1887 12 gauge I recently picked up........................pumps and auto shotguns are restricted in Australia since 1996 (had to hand in 2 Rem 870's Mad)

so this is it as far as repeating 12 gauge shotguns go for most Aussies...............when they came in I just had to have one, the looks have grown on me and to me it's an attractive looking shot gun in it's own way. It's finished quite well considering it's made in China and they have a rep for turning out shitty products. Ame yet to fire it but hope to in the coming weeks it weighs around 8 pounds and feeds + ejects live rounds flawlessly, it has a 2 shot feed system where you just place two rounds straight in and close the lever. It maye not be as fast as my old pumps but it's better than nothing !!

Have placed a slip on recoil pad and a elastic butt shell holder all ready for chasing some vermin from the back of the ute Big Grin

Mine finally arrived at the shop. It looks a bit 'agricultural', but that's probably to be expected for a Norinco.
Now to see how it holds up over the long (until Little Johnnie has another twinge!) haul.

Cheers, Dave.

Dave I reckon there not to bad...................I have seen some rems and winchesters on shelves that where finished worse than these.

Where did you get yours from ?? are they from the first shipment that arrived ??

QB weekend mine will get a bit of a work out.

Dunno if it's from the first shipment or not, just saw the posts about it, decided to try one and a few days later it turned up. Not sure where the local guys sourced it from, but I think it may well have been the last one.
If it works out, I'll have to get 2, so the missus can have one of her own.

Cheers, Dave.

While I think of it, what do you think of the "drop two" mod offered by that CAS shooter in the USA? I saw the link somewhere in AR, the pics look great. Now, if I can just figure out how to get one over here.......

Sambar,

The drop two works in the ones we have well it does in mine at anyrate, I think it's a handy thing to be honest........................I wonder what the cost would be to get an improved coyote one over here..................I also here that ADI will have them again next year, I may buy a second but would get the adi one next.

I'd like to get a closer look at the CoyoteCap 'tuned' one, but I will NEVER deal with those fuckwits at ADI again, not after the way they treated me over the original 1887 repro.

I was happy to front up the $1500 they were asking, I was happy to pay it all in advance, as they required. But they really pissed me off when they stopped making them after the 'Chisholm Trail', and then fucked us around with the refunds of deposits. If you were lucky enough to get your full amount refunded.

Never again.

At least the norinco is here! And if someone in the USA is cleaning them up and fitting nicer wood, for a good price, then I'll try for one of those. Or an original, they turn up from time to time, and loading and shooting BP shotshells is a lot of fun.

Dave a few people have paid my friend and I out for getting these china made guns, saying there junk etc.

But as you say there here now.................

It has also been said to me that the orginals are far better etc. but in some respects the technology used to make these would be better than the technology used to make them than 100 years ago and I reckon the metal would be better, maybe I am barking up the wrong tree I am not sure.

I heard that these IAC shotguns are prrofed for 43,500 psi,

there are also three rifles in existence that are of 70-150 calibre and they where built on these actions, might make an interesting and fun project if you had the $$ and inclination Big Grin

a .700 cal lever gun now that would be a blast Cool

Geeze, 43,00psi? From memory a 12g is about the 12-14,000 psi region. Should be plenty strong then.
I dunno about the 'CoyoteCap' '87's, but I will ask around the trade.

PC, I just 'talked' via email with Matt at CoyoteCap, he says there should be no problem shipping 2 (or more) of the improved one to OZ. All we have to do is find a dealer who won't rip us off on the handling costs.

Cheers, Dave.
