I found this brass and nickle tube among my deceased father in laws things. I have been trying to identify it and could use some help. It appears to be a tube for carrying muzzle loading shotgun wads or at least there are some that look like card wads in it. It is 51/2" long and approx. 5/8" inside diameter. It is marked with Scoville Mfg. Company, patent applied for on the non removable end. I have never shot a black powder shotgun so don't know what was used to carry powder, wads and shot. Am I on the right track or is this something altogether different.
He also had several of the British Enfield oilers but they had an oil compartment with a small dipper in the screw top.
