I would take a look at the SKB 385. About $1600. A really nice gun that is well balanced. The 20 in this model is even sweeter.

Assuming you have a non-SXS shotgun you shoot well, either measure its stock dimensions or take it with you to the dream store.
Any SXS you buy should fit similarly to the gun you already favor. If you take "old reliable" to the store, simply lay both guns upside down on a counter top, with the beads hanging off the end of the counter and the triggers in line with each other. Note any differences in how far the combs are from the counter top, and any differences in the length of the buttstocks measured from the trigger.
Major differences will require the services of a gunsmith, or a bunch of your own time reshaping the SXS's buttstock.
I mention this, because I bought a Beretta, and there's a bunch of "extra" wood in its stock. The comb is too high, and the stock is too long. It felt and looked fine in the store, but I can only hit incoming doves with it. I get to spend more money at the gunsmith's shop.

Steel shot is the decider, if you must than you are restricted to the latter made sxs with choke tubes however you can shoot steel thru the old browning BSS but not any that has the full choke only the mod/Im Cly .

I own 4 Browwning BSS's my first was in 1971 which I still own, for the money there is nothing in the market place that comes near them even at twice the price.

A used BSS value ranges from $500 to $1200, price is determined by condition and it is amasing how many used BSS' show up in near mint that is the reason I ended up buying 3 more.

They come in standard and sidelock...the sidelock is 3 times more expensive meaning it will cost about 2 to 4K for a clean one.

The boxlock comes with double triggers

the standard has single trigger, early models (silver trigger) were non selective, the latter (gold trigger) was selective.

both guns came in 12 and 20 guage only with either pistol or english style stock in either gloss or satin.

Barrels in 12 are 26"M/IC, 28"M/F and 30"M/F, earlier guns are chambered for 2 3/4" only

20 guage are 26" M/IC and 28" M/F

Thanks for the input guys. I have found many BSS models but most are full choke. The Berettas are a little more rare and the prices are getting closer between the BSS and Berettas.
