I don't know if 28 gauge shells are available in Argentina for a reasonable price. Perhaps just easier to go with a 20 gauge. Shotgun would be a semi-auto. Your thoughts and experiences? DRSS & Bolt Action Trash

AzGuy: Hunting partner and I are returning to Argentina for the second time in May. We've always shot 12s & 20s. In our research of Argentina we've been told by outfitters that 28s are available but that advance notice must be given and that 28s are FAR MORE expensive than 12s or 20s. When we hunted in Uruguay we were told up front that our outfitter could NOT get 28s. You need to ask your outfitter. Have a great trip!! 114-R10David

I went with three friends last September. We all took one carry on bag and rented guns from the outfitter. All he had was 20 gauge semi autos which was fine with us. Absolutely no regrets! We shot so much that the receivers cracked on two of them. Hope this helps. Deo Vindice, Don Sons of Confederate Veterans Black Horse Camp #780

AZG..been going to Argentina now for over 15 years...for many years we took our guns with us,but they kept going up on gun fees and overall ''hassle''...for the last several years have used the outfitters guns, rental about the same as the fees, but a whole lot of less ''hassle''and that has become important to me...and another big item is that you will shoot a normal hunting lifetime amt. of shells EACH DAY...over the years I have seen many guns turned into a pc.of junk by the end of the trip...tear up their guns, not yours...we have been able to get 28 shells only on a few of the trips, but not worth the extra $$ with the volume of shells shot..
