My six-year old grandson Wesley came to visit recently and trekked along with my son and I on a trip to the gun club. Using a shortened 20 gauge Beretta he got a chance to shoot (assisted) at some clay targets thrown from low house #7 on the skeet field. He broke four targets and it was really fun to see his positive reaction (and of course much to the delight of his Dad and Grandpa) Determined he has a dominant left eye so am steering him towards shooting left handed. We also did some informal patterning in the snow so he could get the concept of shotgun pellet spread. Last fall on a visit he went with me to check my deer hunting ladder stand. He went up the 17' ladder without hesitation. | ||
