I have been looking for a 1100 LW or a 1100 LT 20 ga for some time now. I found one in a LT and it is like new in box, but it is a older gun with two barrels. One is a factory barrel no vent rib. The other has a vent rib. I compaired this LT with my friends LW. The only difference is the hight of the vent rib. My LT is almost twice as tall and the LW. What does the tall vent rib do? Will it shoot high or low? Any info would be great. Ron

It depends on how tall you are talking about. But yes, it changes the POI (Point of Impact). It is no different than raising or lowering the rear sight on a rifle.

High ribs are common on trap and skeet guns. On hunting guns that is not the way to go. You can easily change the POI with a few pieces of moleskin on the comb. Just keep adding layers until it suits you.
